The beautiful town of St Gervais les Bains greets you as you enter the valley. The mountains begin to roll and the acute nature of the Mont Blanc range is met with the gradual approach of Mont Joly. The spa town of St Gervais has its own funicular railway that runs 12km from Le Fayet (600m), past the summer Alpine meadows which transform into the Les Houches ski domaine in the winter, up to the Nid d’Aigle Glacier at 2500m to the start point of many Mont Blanc ascents. This picturesque journey that takes 75 minutes and is worth every moment. St Gervais centre St Gervais has baroque inspired architecture and is graced in its centre by a stunning church. The pavement cafe life in St Gervais is vibrant without being too busy or loud and comes alive at all times of the year. In addition to the neighbouring ski resort of Les Houches, the town has its own ski domaine which links to Megève. This can be accessed via the Bettex telecabine, which is located in St Gervais and has a large free car park. The entire area is served by the Evasion Mont Blanc Ski Pass.
